Haha. I almost went for a bike ride yesterday! So sad. Waiting to try my “new” 40 year old ash snowshoes I bought this fall from an old guy in town….I’m dreaming of walking like a feather on the snow drifts.
We just moved to Maine, selling the move to our three young children that they would have so much fun in the snow. My four year asked the other day, in a very serious tone for a four year old, “where’s the snow, Dad?”
When a four year-old gets serious, you know it’s serious, Scott. Sounds like it’s time to pull out the snow dance in your house and get the smiles going, maybe even a few laughs. And who knows, it might actually work!
Love it! We summer in Maine for 3 months and have a home in West Texas (where we still work). So far this winter, our West Texas home has received 19 inches of snow breaking the all time record set in 1947. Even had a white Christmas eve and day. We had over 10 inches yesterday, breaking the all time 24 hour record. Just amazing….Wish you were here! :-)
Lois, we had a wonderfully white Christmas here as well, but it disappeared within a couple days leaving the local ski resort to battle the mild temps while making their own snow. Amazing amounts you report! Enjoy it!
I live in New York, but love to visit Maine for the great winters. But, where is the snow??? Maybe in February? Please Winter, we are waiting for you to arrive!
Last year New York accumulated more snow than Maine; and this year it sounds like Texas is the frontrunner, Stephanie. Let’s hope this changes in time for the National Toboggan races and the Runner Sledder races, both in February!

Rob, it’s never too early to start training for the Trek Across Maine!

I’m not missing it, had enough last year.
Uh-oh, Marie, better not tell this to Scott’s four year-old!

Love it. Glad you all had some fun with it. BUT BRING ON THE SNOW ALREADY, right?
Annette, you might want to connect with Scott and his four year-old about organizing a snow dance. :)
