Tuesday 207
painting by Jessica Stammen
About this painting: I’ve become accustomed to jumping in the lake on my birthday every year. September 20th is two days before the official start of fall and a quick, cold splash always seems like a fitting finale. However, last night there was scattered frost across the state and so I think this painting will have to do for this year! Likewise, the swimmers in my 207 series will likely not reappear until 2014. Sigh.

I’ll go swimming on your birthday! I love swimming in Maine. It’s the reason I moved back here. Pick a lake! How about Washington Pond!
Dan, in fact I did end up jumping in Megunticook Lake yesterday! I went up to the Common Ground Fair in the morning and it was hot, hot, hot in the sun. Couldn’t believe it! So I jumped in the lake on the way home. It was wonderful…and just warm enough. Hope you got a swim in as well.
