A three hour drive through the wee hours of the morning. A two mile hike in from parking. The first, faint gurgles of the Rapid River running in the distance. A day spent with my dad scouting out the holes up and down the shore. A nap in the sun. The brownies I made the day before our afternoon snack. My dad standing on this rock in the glinting, masking, misting sunlight as he sets the hook, keeps his balance, keeps the angle of the rod…
