Tuesday 207

painting by Jessica Stammen

Downstream

About this painting: Flyfishing with my dad and brothers is an endurance event. This painting is from a day spent at the bottom of Little Falls on Grand Lake Stream. Our time was an exercise in the art of efficiency. We fished all day, no lunch. Sparse words were like the flick, flick florescency of the fly-line against the silent, shadowed bank. Lines of unspoken conversation laced like calligraphy overhead.
