Tuesday 207

painting by Jessica Stammen

Blue Hat, Blue Ocean Hike // oil on panel // 4 x 4 inches

About this painting: Last weekend I hiked the ridge trail in Camden Hills State Park with Jonathan. Just before we reached Ocean Lookout on Megunticook Mountain I turned back to see the incredible blue of Penobscot Bay rising up through bare tree branches. Jonathan’s hat almost became camouflage; it was as if a bit of ocean hiked up with us to look out on itself.
